Traditional Chinese Medicine - Acupuncture and Herbal
Developed over the past 5,000 years, Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on restoring and maintaining harmony and balance, both externally and internally, through a highly-developed medical system modeled on nature.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture works by balancing and building the body’s life force energy, known as Qi (pronounced “che”). An imbalance of the body’s energy may result in physical, emotional or stress related pathologies. With acupuncture, the body’s Qi is regulated when the practitioner inserts fine, disposable needles into strategic acupuncture points, under the skin, which form a network of pathways throughout the body akin to the nervous system. The effect of the needles is to stimulate the immune response both locally and systemically. The end result is to adjust the body’s energetic system to promote balance and healing and to fortify the body’s immune response.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine is used in conjunction with acupuncture to support the healing process once the patient leaves the office. Chinese herbs have an effect on both the internal body biochemistry, as well as a direct effect on specific body systems. Herbal formulas are tailored to meet the medical needs of each individual.
